Charles Tupper spent decades in an emotionally abusive marriage — surviving what most men never talk about.
After years of silence, shame, and self-blame, he found the courage to leave, heal, and begin again. But it was not that easy. He left the first in 2014 after 31 years together and just shy of 28 years married. He quickly married a rebound that lasted 4 months. From 2014- 2017, He went through 2 divorces and the death of a fiancée. Then he knew he had to work on himself. Early 2019, all his determination and self-work paid off.
Then came Terrina.
Her love was different — honest, safe, supportive.
She didn’t just stand by Charles... she lifted him.
One day she said,
“You should help men who’ve been through what you have.”
That moment birthed Courageous Warrior Coach™. But it didn’t stop there.
As they grew stronger together, Charles realized something even deeper:
Most people spend more time planning their wedding and honeymoon than they do on their marriage.
And that gap can cost couples their connection — or their future.
That’s why Unshakable Vows™ was created:
to help couples build a love where both people feel safe, seen, and supported before the vows are spoken.

How did they meet?
Charlie (because that's what Terrina calls him) felt he was ready to find his forever woman, a wife, and best friend. He had forgotten why he hated online dating after his niece had put him on many sites before. He quickly remembered about all the scams and noise that he didn't like.
He was done with online dating and was removing himself. Something made him decide to keep just the one. Call it an intervention if ya will. He decided to keep "Our Time" as his only site to use on a last-ditch effort.
But he went further. He changed this profile and went very direct. Some even said negative. But he knew what he wanted and did not want. He typed a new profile. It was much more lengthy, but we will give you a shortened version.
" I am sick and tired of these Sears and Roebuck dating sites! If you are more than 5 miles away from me, don't bother. If you are looking for a hookup, don't waste my time. If you are looking for a sugar daddy, keep going. I am looking for someone who can sit on the porch and have a real conversation when nothing else works any longer. I am looking for a best friend who will be there for me, and I for them."
It was much longer, but you understand, He was tired and wanted a real relationship. He was not looking for hookups and mind games.
The next day he got a message as he was changing his mind and planning on taking it down as well. The message said, " I know I am breaking your rules as I am much further away, but I would like to meet you." That lead to them meeting and dating. an hour and a half apart, they would alternate who would drive to the other each weekend. They were married in the middle of this little thing called a pandemic in 2020 and that year turned out to be the best year in Charles' life. Their relationship grows stronger every year. Now, they want to help others.

But healing from the past wasn’t enough.
Charles and Terrina knew that prevention is just as powerful as recovery.
Together, they began dreaming about a proactive coaching program that would help couples build the kind of love they had found—a relationship rooted in trust, respect, and emotional safety. One where:
- Both partners are seen and heard
- Boundaries are honored
- Communication is real
- And marriage becomes a place of peace—not pain
And so, Unshakable Vows™ was born.
